ABOUT CHELSEA'S CHALLENGES

Chelsea's Challenges has been inspired by a little girl who has moderate Autism
and an intellectual disability.

Chelsea's verbal skills are extremely limited but with help from a specialist
support team Chelsea is learning to communicate through using a system of
pictures and photos.

This visual system has become her world. It has enabled Chelsea to make requests
for her needs and allows her carers to show Chelsea what is expected of her. Visual aides are also used with Chelsea to explain in a simple way what will be happening in her day.

'Chelsea's Challenges' was formed to help other individuals, children, families or anybody who cannot communicate effectively with the spoken word.

Chelsea's visual aides are not for any particular setting or place. They are universal and can be used in any situation, be it in the home, in the educational setting, kindergarten or out visiting.
